This sidebar gadget will allow you to choose your own RSS feed and convert it into a ticker. In the docked state, shows item titles in ticker layout. In undocked state, shows ticker with links and date info. added. Set your own ticker speed and refresh rate.
Use the Settings screen to key in your favourite RSS feed (defaults to BBC UK news). The Settings can also be used to customise the ticker rate and to customise the interval in minutes that the feed contents are refreshed.
In the Docked mode, the ticker is around 20 characters. In the Undocked mode the window widens to show 90 characters plus the link for the Item at the front of the ticker together with its creation date and time. A third line displays information about the RSS Feed itself.

For RSS feeds that you often use and want to have update in the user’s tray or in an icon in his desktop. You should create a MIME Content type com.your.RSSViewer.Content that points to your RSSViewer.exe and set the default actions of the *.Content RSS file-association to launch it.

I used to use this and liked it. However, Windows Mobile 5.0 (R3) apparently doesn’t like it, since it keeps crashing if I try to use it. I use it almost daily now and I miss it. Anyone else have any suggestions?

I use this with Google News and so find it’s not just me.
When in the busy news section, the news is shown in three lists: Today, Yesterday, or Next 7 days, then is it possible to have separate windows and tabs to show each list?
This is easy to do if it’s a basic ‘news ticker’ like xmms and I can do it with that but I am actually using the RSS feed and filtering as I read.

When I move in and out of Internet Explorer it loses the RSS feed, which i use to get new articles and it makes them flash up for a second, any ideas?

When you’re visiting websites for the first time I noticed that websites are automatically upgraded to the most recent compatible version, which for RSS readers is always an older version. I guess that is due to compatibility with website designers. However, when using Feedly’s Sio’s, this doesn’t happen and all devices should be upgraded at the same time. I’ve even set the program in the FAST settngs that this only happens once.

One question: Why does no one seem to care about this? It’s a major stumbling block to using free news reading apps. This should be fixed by the RSS developers, not by bug reports on a forum that is obviously of a not-totally-relevant audience.
