Ranch of Rivershine is a fantasy platform game with realtime physics, in which you control a tribe of furry goblins and save the world of Pafac.
The game is played in an open world with a large number of locations and several ways to move between them.
The right answer to each situation is up to you and you can interact with everything in the game, from animals to other players and everything inbetween.
The other players are also characters you can choose to play as, however you are ultimately in charge of the tribes behaviour.
The game is very story driven, you start with the main character, Pafac, at your mother’s side.
Pafac’s mother is kidnapped by the gods and is seemingly the only thing preventing them to destroy the world of Pafac. You are given the task to rescue her and keep her safe.

The game has many locations, each with a unique feel, atmosphere and way to move around.
Pafac can also fly around and jump over any terrain. You move the furry goblins using magic skills and can also fire magic arrows which hit like real arrows.
If the hero is the most powerful one, he can buff his tribe and also his ability level.
During the game you need to battle mythical creatures, solve puzzles and interact with other player’s game world.

A demo of the game is available as a free sample for Linux, Mac and Windows.
The demo contains the first level and the tutorial and offers you a good impression of the game and the basic gameplay.
The demo is very short so you should download the game instead.
Currently the game is planned for Linux (32 bit and 64 bit), Mac and Windows.
When available, the game will be released for Linux 64 bit and Mac. It is planned that Mac users will be able to run both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of the game on Mac so that everyone can use it.
At the moment the game can only be played on Linux 64 bit because of technical reasons (the resources are mirrored and saved on the main Linux server for ease of development).
The intention is that Mac and Windows users can play the game using Linux ports of the game. Please follow the development progress

The year is 1962, and Tony’s new job has him moving all over the country – from New Orleans to Kentucky to Texas – that is until his new boss presents him with an exotic offer. Tony’s mission is simple: uncover the secrets of a lost civilization hidden in a secret cave off the coast of Mexico. Tony must adapt to a new culture, navigate the hazards of his new surroundings, and outwit a host of dangerous beasts in order to save the world.
STORY:
Tony is a cop in a new nation that has been built from an area of deforestation. There is no sense of law or authority and the city is built on a high plateau, which is why the only people to reach the coastline and the hidden city are smugglers or pirates. The first opening that appears from the ground is the entrance to a cave inside of the mountain. The cave opens and Tony realizes that he’s walking into a mysterious zone that has been left from a lost civilization.
Inside, Tony discovers a mine filled with artifacts of his civilization, which tells the story of the White Race. He must be careful and learn how to fight for his life and navigate the dangerous passages. Once there are clues of how to open the gate that leads to the top of the mountain, Tony realizes that he must brave the bottom, where there are even more dangers.
GAMEPLAY:
In one of the most creative games we’ve seen in a while, Little White Lies is a frenetic exploration game with combat, puzzles and environments that range from ocean to mountains and everything in between. During your adventure, you will take on characters, people and groups at any time, but the story will be open only to Tony. You’ll be guided by audio diaries found at some points of your path and a few other visual sequences, but the gameplay itself will be essentially composed of free exploration.
There are several different types of challenges that you’ll face. During this adventure, you’ll be fighting wild animals, solving puzzles, and avoiding traps, as well as engaging in single combat with some of the creatures you’ll encounter.
Each type of challenge has its own mechanics. For example, you’ll have to fight a bear by stealthily sneaking up on it and then attacking it, while also avoiding its guard dogs. It is also possible to make use of stealth mechanics to solve several puzzles. For example, you can use the

Boxception features a bunch of puzzle boxes!
Each puzzle box has a health bar, this bar is filled by defeating enemies or doing certain actions which will help you solve your puzzle. So please be careful!
The box is always on top of the player which is a bit annoying when you die, so we have fixed that.
The boxes are also positionable so you can set them wherever you want.
The box has a hitbox which can also be moved to some distant position, any shape can be made with a box.
We have changed some of the controls as well, a tweaked version of Boxception should be out soon which changes the controls to the easier version used in the videos.
Boxception will get even more boxes soon.
Boxception requires a powerful computer with a high performance gamepad. We will get to the more powerful parts soon as well, like how to manage and customize the boxes.

First we will release a tweaked version of Boxception with better controls then we will release an update in the near future.

First i like the concept. You really need to perfect the controls a bit more though. The weights of the boxes really need to be able to be decreased to 0 and it would be nice to change the alpha of the box to something that is harder to shoot through, possibly making the transparent box parts slightly opaque? Also the boxes need to be better implemented in the game. There are an enormous amount of boxes in the game. Not just 2

Step 5: The Strange Planet Baby
Let’s get this out of the way before we go anywhere else: it’s the totally random occurrence of the planets that make My Worlds’ ambitious creations so specific. Planet size and construction accuracy varies greatly, and planet formation goes much beyond science, with a lot of room for the inventiveness of the level builder.
All of this means that a level like the “World of Goo” tutorial level, with all of its initial ideas, will not work in my code (and I haven’t touched it since original submission). Many of the technical considerations for making such a level work simply don’t apply to Wii/WiiU.
Just so we’re clear: I’m talking from memory, but it looks like the size requirement for the world itself is something like (800, 800), and my code probably only supports something like (1000, 1000). That isn’t a mathematical limitation of the game – it’s just how memory works and text is measured; the World class is effectively a “virtual” being inside of the level, and I assume it is implemented so as to be aware of the size. But the game itself is set up to only accommodate something like (800, 800).
I’m having a fairly terrible time figuring out how to even start on this level – and it’s starting to really annoy me.
At this point I’m basically assuming that I (the level builder) can’t have any extra assets other than what the level creator supplied, and so I can’t count on any of My Worlds’ generated content to help me out (e.g. “steps”). I can almost guarantee you I’m going to eventually spend more time building something complicated than writing this post (and believe me, the latter is definitely complicated), so I’m not really interested in spending forever on something that might ultimately not work.
What are some good approaches we can take to a “game over” situation? I’m thinking of bad situations. You’re born on the planet, the planet is 3 times the size of the tutorial world, and the planet has a nebula around it that’s travelling in your direction, and a gravitational anomaly that’s pulling you toward it. So there’s a few bad states for you to handle.
If this “Planet” were reachable, it would normally trigger a TryMoveState based on how long I had been in it.
For this level, I don’t think a TryMoveState would have any

You also have to cross some of the obstacles without colliding, and avoid the sharp spikes on the way. Look for an opening to jump over them and then you’ll be safely on the other side of the road. If you feel like landing, then jump over a block of snow, but be careful, there are sharp obstacles on the way.
If there is no way around to the left, jump over it, otherwise you risk falling over the sharp spikes and changing the way.
