Although Photoshop CS6 has many tools, they are designed to be used in combination. The Photoshop team often suggests using a set of _action_ tools to perform a specific action, while using the unique _dialogue_ tools to manipulate the image further. You’ll need to practice mixing the two tools in order to get the most out of Photoshop’s broad toolset.
The built-in image browser provides tools to crop and rotate images, and it enables you to share images with friends and the world.
Photoshop offers an extensive feature set that enables you to do all sorts of image manipulations, including dabbling in the basics with adjustment layers and applying filters. The downside of Photoshop Elements is that it does not support a variety of advanced editing tools, such as brushes, gradients, and a few other tools in a professional version. However, given its price, it’s more than sufficient for most people. Photoshop Elements supports most of the major image editing tools that are used by normal users. And since it is an easier to learn, it is a good alternative to Photoshop CS and Photoshop CC. It is worth noting that the trial version of Photoshop Elements does not include all of the features of the full version. You can extend the feature set of Photoshop Elements by adding the trial version of Photoshop.
The interface of Photoshop Elements is very similar to that of Photoshop. In fact, you can think of it as an easier to use version of Adobe Photoshop. The interface is simplified to make it more user friendly.
The primary menu icon, the “big red box” icon, is located at the top right corner of the interface. The first choice on the “big red box” icon is to import images. After importing your images, your new images will be in a new file called: “Picture 1” in your documents. The file name of the image will be automatically added. The next option is to Edit.
After you choose “Edit” you will see the menu of Photoshop Elements. You have a variety of tools and features at your fingertips. You can use traditional photo editing tools, such as the Lasso tool, Layer, the adjustment tools. You can also use the canvas tools.
The first tool on the left will appear as you click on the first tool icon. Here you will find the tools to access all of the functions of Photoshop Elements.
The “plus” sign indicates that you can open a new document.
This tool will open a new document and will show you all of the new features that Photoshop Elements has to offer. In this tool you can access a variety of filters, visual effects, and several other tools for creating great images.
The next icon that you see is the “paint bucket” icon. This tool will let you make color changes to your images or cut out part of your images, creating new image layers.
The Lasso tool is the most used tool in Photoshop Elements. You will find many of the special effects that you need in the Lasso tool. The tool helps you draw shapes, cut out objects

What’s New in the?
1. Create a new layer.
2. Select the Clone Stamp Tool from the Tools panel, and select the None Selection option.
3. Press and hold the Alt/Option key to access the Brush Options dialog box, as shown here.
4. Set the Mode to Random and the Hardness to a medium-soft pressure.
5. Click the OK button.
6. Use the Clone Stamp Tool to create a new image. Choose a dark background for the clone, such as the background of a newspaper clipping.
7. Continue using the Clone Stamp Tool to copy the visual elements from the image on the top of this layer, and paste them onto the bottom image. Add any text, type a caption or signature, or paint an abstract pattern.
8. Choose Layer » New Adjustment Layer » Curves.
9. Click the Curves button to open the Curves dialog box.
10. Choose a highlight curve in the middle. The resulting curve is shown here. The curve will be used to add more contrast in the visual elements.
11. Choose Layer » New Adjustment Layer » Levels.
12. Click the Levels button to open the Levels dialog box.
13. Click the Input Levels button to open the Levels Controls palette, which is shown in Figure 16.19.
14. Select the Rec 601 option on the left side of the palette.
15. Choose a mid-contrast input level. For example, Figure 16.19 shows the Input Levels set to –3.70.
16. If you have color space set to sRGB, drag the Output Levels box to the left of the screen and then adjust the Rec 601 Levels to +0.45.
17. Click the OK button to close the Levels dialog box.
18. Continue adding adjustments with the curves and levels layers.
19. Finally, add a slight blur using the Gaussian Blur Filter, which is available in Photoshop’s Filter Gallery.
